It’s been over a year since that fun brain surgery and life keep passing me by.

It’s been over a year since that fun brain surgery and life keep passing me by.

One year eight months ago I was a cancer survivor. 22 Feb 2010, I became a brain surgery survivor.

Which one was the worst to survive?

Brain surgery.

I would rather go though another series of radiation treatments than another 10 hour surgery!

My life as I knew it changed for the worst. Cancer holds nothing to what I’ve gone through since I woke up from the anesthesia.

When I rang out after my last dose of radiation and the 2 last chemos I was able to go back to work and start to gain my weight back and look at life as a new beginning. I could honestly say that life was great!

Now I am looking at some more things that cancer gave me to fight as I have said many times that cancer is the gift that keeps on giving even if you don’t want those gifts! Brain surgery was just one of them!

But in the morning I get to go back into surgery for a few minor things caused by that radiation that saved my life but keeps giving me more not so fun things to put up with. This time more Human Papillomavirus to be burned out of my nose, some repairs to my throat so food can go down easier and some wild and weird thing that radiation did to my tongue.

But there is nothing that can be done to put my brain back to working the way it used to before that day in February.

I sit here and pray every day asking God to give me my life back. Not this one I have now where I can’t walk very far before having to stop to get it to stop bouncing and to take in information and process it correctly. Or the way I seem to be mean to my wife and sons and stop being a bad dad as my youngest told me not to long ago. Or as I’m told, scream at my wife as I know I don’t do but I guess I do. I can’t process that data at all.

I want to be able to buy things like I did before all this started. Not live on this sad fixed income where my wife stresses out trying to make ends meet knowing that I’m the one who should be working but can’t do much of anything and now with the world the way it is now knowing that being hired for a job would be on a level with winning the lottery that I can’t even afford to buy a ticket to even try.

I can’t count the times I start thinking of how life was so great and how I was able to support my family with no worries and nothing to fear but now I worry about what will happen tomorrow to me and them.

I can feel my brain slowing down. I can feel it at times swell and hurt but I can’t let them see this as they have watched a man turn into something that is becoming a waste of air the rest of the world needs. I cry too much now. I stare into the past and then to the future of this pathetic life I have left and I ask again why God? What did I do that was so bad that I get to live this life I have now? The headaches, the pressure, the food I can’t eat, the things I used to do that I can’t and the way this affects my son, my wife and those around me.

I was able to help people over come the pain of cancer. I showed them how to laugh and to see that there was a future ahead of them that once that monster was beaten life would go on, but no one could or did warn me about this life after brain surgery. Mine was just a small problem compared to Senator Giffords and to those on the fields of battle who have such traumatic brain damage.

And here I am crying about my pathetic little brain problem but I’ve lost the will to want to keep going on with this life. Waking each morning and having to sit up slowly so I don’t fall over, washing my face and looking at that stranger in the mirror that looks so wrinkled from the weight loss and radiation. Having no appetite for anything solid but cooking a bowl of oatmeal or eggs with cheese just for the calories as nothing has much taste any more even my other meals of soft and mushy foods as I need them to stay alive so my wife and son have my pathetic fixed income so they have a roof over their heads and food and clothing but watching my son not have the things I was able to get him back before all this happened or a present for my wife on our anniversary to show her how much I love her and to thank her for putting up with me all these years as I’m not the pick of any litter!

I want my mind back so I can finish a few stories I started so I could make some extra money, I want my old creative brain that would look at a problem and figure it out and my old life back, not this thing calling itself a life.

In a little while I’ll finish my last cup of coffee until I wake up after surgery.

I wish that God in his infinite wisdom would do as I have asked lately and I will ask of him one more time before I nod off on that table for a simple little 3 in 1 surgery to look at me and say that’s enough and let me wake up to a better life or to just let me go so that my wife and son can benefit from the insurance and not have to endure life with me any more. No human should have to endure this. It’s not a life but a fight. A fight to stay sane. A fight to support my wife and son. A fight not to look at me and cry and wish for a miracle to put this shell of a man back together the way he was before that first round with cancer.

I just want my life back. Not just a life but the life I had. Is it too much to ask for? God, I can’t keep doing this anymore. I’m tired of the doctors, the pain the way I can’t see my world anymore.

Give my life meaning. I never ask you for anything, just my life I had that was capable of caring for my family. Just release my brain from this torture so it will start marching to the band. Let me go so the doctors can use my body to learn how cancer and surgeries will affect the body so that they can better heal others.

That will give my life meaning.
That’s all I ask.

They We I A view of 9/11

They, We, I

By, George “RolloverRiderPGR” Purdy
pass this on but keep my name on it so "They" know.

I’ve watched the 10th commemoration of 9/11.
I believe it’s time to stop feeding Islam.
They have reaped 10 years of our sadness and the terror they instill in us every year as plans are made for another service and they post some threats and the circle starts again.
They win.
They keep on winning on 9/11 doing what they are told to do by the prophet.
To kill us and to keep us looking over our shoulders just to convert us.
They win.
Time to stop letting them feed us misleading plans.
They win.
Time to stay alert but time to stop bringing up bad parts of history.
They lose.
We have this habit of remembering and commemorating attacks on us that kill many Americans. WWI, WWII, and now 911.
They win.
We have a penchant for remembering bad days and we need to stop feeding the enemy. This ones not a country but a geo political ideology millions/billions think is a religion. Their only goal is to kill if you don’t see their views or believe in their God and treat humans worse than we Americans have ever in our entire history as some believe the Bad Americans have done.
They win.
Every 9/11 a terror threat goes up. The weak among us want to crawl into a hole and the rest of us watch a little harder.
They win.
This will be my last year to remember in public 9/11
They lose.
And let those who have died, rest in real peace even though 3000+ it isn’t.
They rest
I hope the rest of the world will too and so we stop feeding the beast their aim of terrorizing us.
We win.
It’s also time to stop thinking that they might strike NYC again and again but other places as they have done over and over.
We outmaneuver.
It’s time to stop pandering to the Jeanie and put the Jeanie back into it’s bottle and quit being so politically correct and see this threat as what it is a threat, not a religion! This religion is like having a mad dog in the yard next to where your children play as the dog is digging under the fence.
We acted.
Quit feeding the dog or,
They win.

I’ll remember in my mind 9/11.
I win.

The tag line in my PGR Profile and why I put John 15:13 there

My tag line in my profile of the PGR and why I used the verse from John 15:13

Ten years ago on 9/11/2001 A day we’ll all remember, I know I won’t because if it had not been for a bad part on my heater at home I would have been in NYC that day. I am one of the few truck drivers that would volunteer to go there with my company. I had just returned after delivering a load of air duct work to a high school on Manhattan and was supposed to actually relay a load that was to deliver at the same school on that fateful day.

My neighbor had come over to take me to the hardware store to get the part I needed, but when he walked in he told me an air plane had flown into one of the towers at the WTC. We watched the TV for a few minutes and the whole time I’m thinking that this was an attack because you had to really try to hit a building in NYC. It couldn’t be an accident and then we watched the 2nd air craft fly into the second building. I didn’t have to guess who might have done this and I wasn’t wrong.

NYC was closed to traffic so I was given a load and was sent on a short load close by and on the way back I called and talked to my dispatcher about setting up and getting a load of relief supplies to go to ground zero as I had been hearing about other towns doing this.

She told me they had started it and because I am THAT guy that will drive to NYC I was given the load to get there ASAP.

It was collected by Clear Channel Communications who had an office in the WTC and lost a lot of people that day but has several stations here in town. The load was supposed to be delivered to NYC but because my company had reloaded and palllatized the load it was redirected to Stewart AFB in Newburg, NY just north of NYC. I met with the FEMA director of the area there and the base Commander both who couldn't believe that there were truck loads of things just like on my trailer coming to Stewart and down to other drop sites. I was unloaded and sent on my way.

It wasn’t until a week later that I was sent back to NYC and as I drove along the Brooklyn Queens expressway the view I was so used to seeing across the river was not the one I knew. As I looked at the drivers of cars and trucks around me as we looked across the river I saw sadness and hate at what had happened. I was shaken also and I had a few tears drop from my eyes for the destruction and the memories I had from 1972 while stationed at Ft Dix for an MOS school and coming to NYC on weekends and remembering standing at the foot of the WTC as they were still building them and also of delivering there over the years and going up to the observation deck. They are only memories but they hold those views in my minds eye.

My company in thanks for me asking about gathering supplies and volunteering to take the load at no pay bought a new truck for me and I got to decide the design for the truck. I decided on what looked like bullets but in the Red White and Blue of our flag. I also designed a plaque in memory to the men and women of the FDNY, NYPD, EMTS and the Civilian Volunteers that ran in to the World Trade Center but never came out.

I dedicated that truck to those who died trying to rescue so many people they never knew.

The plaque was a star in a red circle and on the points of the star was Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard who guard our borders and protect us from dangers from outside our borders, and in the center around a silver circle is written Police, Fire, EMT and Civilian Volunteers for those who protect us and help us at home inside those borders.

But in the center on the silver background I put a verse from John 15:13, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

There were also 2 ribbons on both sides of the star one black for those who will never return and one yellow for them to come home to.

Then a church in Topeka started their hate and out of their hate the Patriot Guard Riders arose to stand in honor for our KIA’s and to protect the families from this hate.

I joined this group in either late 2005 or early 2006 I believe I was about #32,186 or somewhere in that area. And when I joined I put in my signature or tag line these simple words: There is no truer love than when a man gives his life so that others may live. Taken from John 15:13

I took the words from John and changed the verse from how John wrote in his letter so it reflected my feelings for those who gave their life freely for others.

I did a lot of postings in the PRG web site but it wasn’t until a news reporter that joined us used my tag line in a story he did on the PGR and John 15:13 started to be used in many posts, news stories, and funerals.

I hope that it was me that brought this verse into the lives of many as it stands so true for those who volunteer their lives so that we may live on.

As many of us in the PGR, when we were in service to our country we were drafted but as time went on and that dirty war, spelled police action in SE Asia was over and the draft ended many men and women kept joining the armed forces and giving freely, their lives when it came to it.

They still, to this day write a check to us with their lives by volunteering their service to America and yes to the world even though we are hated by many we still answer a call for help.

We will continue to give the lives of our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, husbands and wives so that others may live.

Thank you disciple John for your letters about your Lord and Master’s sayings as you learned at his feet and thank you for a verse that has so much meaning if not to me but a nation under God.

18 year marrage anniversity

Today marks 18 years of marriage to my wife. She married an over the road truck driver who was home on an irregular schedule. Then when the nasty stuff hit the fan and she kept her oath to me where it says in richer or POORER In SICKNESS and in health. Until 2008 all was going fine for us until the worst word in the human language CANCER came into our lives. We never had to ask for anything as I had a job and was able to get anything we needed.

Cancer ruined that for a while as we went through our savings until I could get back to work but during this trial of the summer of 08 she was there for me as I was on my knees due to chemo and radiation fighting the best way I could.

Then after getting back to work an accident and I lost my job. Got a new one at a Big Box store until another company hired me. Things started to look up except for the bankruptcy due to losing more than a few cancer cells.

Them something goes wrong inside of my head that made it where I had to fly home from California and left my bosses truck behind me as I could not or would even think of driving.

I get home and they find a "little" spot in the head that they said not to worry about but it turned into something to worry about that 5 doctors decided needed to come out. They had no name for the "thing" which grew to the size of a marble. That was in Feb 10. Brain surgery and now the added costs from surgery and the past year of trying to learn how to stand and walk. She was still standing there for me.

Now a letter from Social Services and the bad news that we'll lose our medical insurance because of changes made by both sides of the house and a POTUS who has no clue. The next time I g to vote I’ll be making hard decisions on those who took and take the easy road.

I wake up today and come in to turn on the computer and there is a anniversary card on the keyboard.

For the past year I have not spent any money on cards but print something for her. There has been NO Christmas tree or presents under it for her and the boys. It’s gotten to the point if we can’t eat it we don’t need it.

Like an Oath Keeper she has honored hers like I do. The sickness and the poorer she promised me. To bad the newer ages are finding it easier to break their oath than honor it when it life gets hard.

Thank you Barbara for staying by my side.
I Love you,
George

Something funny about politicians, movie stars, rich people and technology

I would think that any politician or celebrity or person with any kind of money would get off of every internet social site and quit taking pictures that they KNOW will become common property on the internet! You would also think that most of these people have at least 2 brain cells to rub together and would think that if they know of something as in “I have a mistress” or "I have a ‘love child’" or I like to surf the internet for little girls and boys or anything else, that someone out there also knows about it!

I mean how freaking stupid can a politician or movie star or rich person be to think or know that in this day and age thieves don’t have to break into your HOUSE or office anymore to steal pictures or documents from you! If you have a cell phone, a smart phone, a tablet, a laptop, tower unit or a digital camera someone out there is going to get some embarrassing or something worth money off of it somehow! It’s happened too many times for you idiots to think it won’t happen to you!

To think that a legal copy of a virus protection or a lifeline is going to stop some low life or a child with a computer and more knowledge of how things work and protect you from their prying fingers is pure idiocy!

Heck, even those morons who fixed the current copy of the maybe President of the USA did such a piss poor job a child can see it’s fake! So it’s not hard to take a fake picture and hack a stupid Twitter account and post something to make you look stupid and the media even more so as they go insane over a fake picture while the moron wasting my TAX dollars making congress critters scream and demand an investigation goes beyond belief!

It’s about time that all politicians drop their twit head accounts, wipe their facial books off line and get rid of all that No Space they’re taking up!

Having anything that cn be hacked while holding a political office is pure suicide! Having one if rich can cost you in some stupid lawsuit or payoff. Let the peons out here have this fun and you go your route in having a stable life away from twit heads and faced booked and on Spaced out and whatever!

It’ll be a lot safer in the long run and will also help you all to keep your woodies hidden and your legs closed to any humans that you aren’t attached to by a ring or a promise! We WILL find out about it! There is nothing secret any more and it’s about time you all figured that out! From presidents down to movie stars and billionaires! If you do it or even think it we’ll see it on You Tube or on Yahoos front page by next week!

Not to mention the morons who commit crimes and then just have to post it on some social site! That’s as stupid as getting a hummer in a round room in a white house!

Now the real embarrassing thing about the weiner picture is when they finally figure out who did it and who the picture is as well it IS the internet and experts will figure out where it came from, that tiny little thing hiding behind those children's shorts will be named and that will lead someone into hiding and to maybe actually click on one of those links for a body enhancement device because as I’ve read from quite a few women out there, “WOW That’s a LITTLE thing! Why would he send a picture of THAT to a woman? I thought he wanted to empress her?!?” with the usual ROFLMAO or LOL behind the post!

I can’t wait to see who he is!

A Memorial Day story that happened to me a few years back.

03 Jun 2007 5:48 PM Edit Quote Reply Alert
On Sunday the day before Memorial day I was once again heading out from home on my weekly run to NYC. I usually stop at the Walmart in Marshfield, Mo. but missed the exit completely as I was thinking about something or the other (and I'm a trucker!) so I decided to stop at the store at St. Robert close to Ft Lenard Wood.

I had ridden my scooter to work as I do every weekend and I was still wearing my leather vest with my PGR, MIA, US Army, and Fallen Heros patches.

Of course being in the over 50 group and having beaten my self up over the years and actually getting an extra day at home to do some of those "honey do list thingies" I had pulled my knee again (allergy to work maybe??) and was using my trusty cane (laugh and I'll beat you with it!) to get around!

I hobbled on down to the store to get a few supplies for the truck and while I was going down an isle I came apon another "older" vet with his Viet Nam ribbon on his cap. I stopped and put my hand out to shake his and welcomed him home as I do with every Viet Nam vet and talked to him for a few minutes and we went on our merry ways.

I turned the corner at the end of the isle and started up the next when I heard a voice from the isle I had just vacated say "Man did you see that? The way that one vet welcomed the other vet home" and the reply he got " Yeah, dude it was so freakin cool"

Then, as I was in the check out line several young troops came up to me and shook my hand wishing me a good Memorial Day. I told them I actually never have a "good" Memorial Day as I think of the reason we do have this day and that I prayed that if they do get called up and go "down range" that they come home so that we NEVER have to "remember" them on Memorial Day. I did wish them all good luck and keep your head down as that's the only thing I can think of to say to any young person going into harms way.

I got to thinking as I was back in the truck heading down the road looking thru the windshield how when we went to Vietnam those so many long years ago how the people of America were starting to get tired of warfare after having just come out of Korea it seemed like. We didn't welcome those we drafted or the ones who volunteered home from that "police action" and actually didn't until after September 11th when the horror we saw on television slapped us in the face and we were back at war!

We now clap and cheer when our boys and girls, yes, to those of us from an earlier era, we see our selves, young, not ready for the things we do in war but still young boys and girls coming home from the sand box, the look in the eyes that only those who have seen battle have, walking down the isle in the airports and we clap and cheer, not as conquering heros, but as our children and our futures coming home.

I just pray that as we try to bring something to a people who have never known true freedom we don't travel back to the years my youth saw and we stop cheering as our military come home. They didn't start the war, but they hear the calling we have all heard at one time or another and answered that call not as boys and girls but as the warriors they will become!

Welcome Home............because I will always remember you

1st Responders worldwide... please respond. Pass this around..Repost!

This is a question for 1st responders who have worked in SAR after tornadoes, hurricanes and if any from Japan or Indonesia after an earthquake and mainly a tsunami.

When you have found bodies can you tell me in a few words what pieces of clothing or maybe jewelry is still on them? Which piece is the one mostly missing or still on or the average as YOU see it.

My dad made it a point that as a boy growing up that I always have my wallet on me in case I needed to prove I was who I was or to tell someone who I was if not able to.

I also made it a habit when I flew to write my social security number on my chest in ink in case my wallet got lost in case of that accident. My wedding ring has my last name inscribed in it as does my dentures.

Being identified after an earth shattering event should be important to us all and being close to Joplin, Mo. I've heard the stories of the problem of identifying family members and friends.

It's gotten to where our children think that a stupid cell phone is all they need in case of an emergency and they are about as wrong as they can be! Cell phones rely on electricity to function. After an event like Japan, Joplin, Katrina and so on where is the electricity at that those toys need to operate? Not in the power grid that's laying on the ground!

Yes, the new style of clothing of gym shorts and sports clothing is just fine but these people calling themselves fashion designers forget that pockets are needed to carry that cell or wallet in! Listen up! A pocket hidden on the inside will work! make it so! Save a life or keep a mother from grief as she looks for her child!

Please feed my curiosity as this problem in Joplin of not being able to identify people is bothering me needlessly as waiting for a DNA test can drive a grieving mother or father or children crazy waiting on answers!

The cost to protest in the USA!

OK the USA is going broke and yes the "Freedom of speech" is very important to us BUT it's getting to the point when morons protest at a funeral because they think their "message" is that important and for some reason like most over the top insane religious leaders who as a "head of a church" or preacher , inman or priest think it might not be what the deity above actually wants!

Anyway the USA being broke the way we are freedom of speech is great but nowhere in the constitution does it say it can't cost the speakers to have a protest as it costs to PROTECT those protesters!

Look at the middle east and a few funerals where a group from one faction of a religion of peace is burying a lost one and another faction of the same religion of peace storms the first group and there is mayhem and death and damages.

Well America is about to explode.
It's coming and it's going to be hard to stop.
People are being pushed due to unemployment and healthcare and recently natural disasters like tornadoes and flooding and well being at war again or actually on a continuous basics.

The following is a plan that protesters should have to go through. Ain't nothing free any more. Yes, the US Constitution states and gives us freedom of speech BUT who protects these people when they open their mouths insert foot or head up ass and offends others and the others decide to go stomp a mud hole in the protesters?

Who protects the municipality from some Bull crap law suit because they used their "right" to freely open their mouths and got stomped because they city didn't provide protection for them? Is this supposed to be free? Do they not get paid to protect?

And when these protesters come form outside of their "tax" zone and expect the police to provide protection for people who don't live there?

Besides, a show of hands of anyone who was so moved by a group of protesters that you joined their cause or even paid them any attention unless they were dressed like morons or held stupid signs or there were some hot bodies in there? No, not those of you who wanted to go stomp the holy crap out of them even if they so deserved to have it done and in my case go save a burning flag which I have to be held back, as, well it's their right to burn it but not mine to save it even if I throw $50US at them to pay for the flag as I run by!

OK here we go! MY plan to make Freedom of Speech affordable for all!

.............The Rollover Protester Bill...................

Here is MY way to make it hard for them to show up. Please cut and paste this AND even print it and go to your next city or county council meeting and bring it up and even put it on a ballot after the proper gathering of voters signatures.

They make their money through law suits. Yes they are REAL good in court as that’s the main source of income being a lawyer family.

In this day where the economy is very hard and money in the city and county coffers is getting very low it's time that ANY group wanting to stage a protest, they must pay a NONREFUNDABLE deposit! We do it for airline flights and for sporting events, apartment and home rentals and even for consumer goods so why do they not have to pay a non refundable refund for a protest?

The reason it is non refundable is it costs each little city or county MONEY for the tax paid worker to take the information type it in some manner on a typewriter or computer so there is equipment costs and then the paper it’s put on. Then they will have to file it so there is storage costs and then the postage to mail the permit to the group that files it.

Then there is the cost of police EMT and emergency crews that may have to be on standby due to the type of protest. Those who protest at a funeral could make the family upset and the family and friends could take their grief out on the ungrateful group who were thoughtless and thought that the family and friends actually wanted to hear their silly freedom of speech drivel or it might be a gay group protesting in a anti gay area and they might be attacked or a anti gay group in a gay area and so on so forth!

The police, EMTs, fire department and even the stand by ambulance all cost a lot of money and should be paid for. Why should any municipality have to foot the costs?

Yes it’s called “Freedom of Speech” but it doesn’t mean it has to be cost free! Nowhere did I see in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights or any Amendment where it says they have to be heard OR that it comes free of charges.

If the group thinks and feels that their movement is worthy of being heard and it can cause violence on their group and members then they should pay for their protection. Movie stars and political types do so a protest group should also!

Case in point being a certain Church group from Topeka, Ks. has on their web site and can be seen on open forums on the internet an assault on them which was violent enough that they had to escape in their van and it was beaten on and windows were broken out.

As to them paying for their protection the police get paid by the hour or on a salary as do the fire department and the EMTs. Their uniforms cost money and if they are damaged in any confrontation who pays for them? The wearers, the city, county or the protesters? The same with their equipment. If damaged who has to foot the cost? How about injury to the protectors? Medical costs as we all know are going out the roof which brings up another problem.

Proof of insurance for all protesters! Proof of insurance must be shown for each member of the protest group. If the police protection can not stop a mass assault on said group and some are injured, who pays the medical bill because they thought their message was worthy of their freedom to speak?

This non refundable deposit should cover the costs on an hourly or ½ or ¼ hour schedule. If the group wants an hour then add the costs of say 5 officers, 1 ambulance and 1 rescue department and their equipment and if SWAT or any other specialty group is needed then throw that payment in also! In fact send them a list of items they MUST have or the minimum and then a list of extras that they can ask for like a menu at the restaurant! 5 officers at this cost but each added one is this and the cost of an ambulance which I KNOW is about $750 per ride as I’ve paid for 2 in two different locations in America and that was the cost for both! 1 was for 2 miles and the other for almost 15 both to a hospital! I can’t imagine how much a rescue unit or a swat team costs but hey it’s your message, pay to play!

I can hear certain lawyers in a certain group screaming now! BUT hey if your message is so important then foot the cost! It’s your message so put up or shut up!

The world is in a financial bind, especially America and it’s your right to protest but it ain’t free!

All cities and counties that have any military members in a war zone should have your lawyers look at this proposal and decide if it’s feasible. It’s only a matter of time before someone gets more than hurt as the attitude towards these types of groups is going to cost you more than the costs of protection. Look at the world in general and what’s been happening at some protests by counter protesters. Does your town have the man power to stop a large group? Unless you are a large city it’s doubtful you have the man power OR the training in protest control.

If any violent actions are taken against a group there will be a law suit! Then the costs of medical care to any of YOUR personnel and equipment. Not to mention a possible law suit from them.

If a group refuses to pay for the permit, then cover your self and have a waiver written and have it checked by a constitutional lawyer also! Make it air tight that any injuries to any members of a protest group will be their fault and you are not liable BUT even if they have paid to demonstrate and get injured you are covered as you did the best that you could in protecting them.

Now don’t make the costs to far out of range as it could bring some money into the coffers but make it a fair representation of what you feel their protection is worth!

This is just another idea I came up with sitting here looking at the world through my monitor!

George “Rollover” Purdy
Pass this around and if it happens call it the Rollover Protester Bill!

Nothing good will come from it! Cookware falls into the same category!

Never ever buy makeup or exercise equipment! These things tell her she's ugly or fat in your eyes! I KNOW you do NOT answer that 1 question of "does this make my butt look fat" so why do you buy things that have to do with beauty or weight?

There are only a few things you buy the one woman who looks you in the face during those intimate moments when you havent shaved, fixed your hair, killed the smell coming out of the mouth and who also has had your children for you, cleaned your house while you sat there watching sports, cooks for you or puts up with you at parties!
DIAMONDS are first on the list.
A sweet card is next NOT A FUNNY ONE!
A car!
A Motorcycle
A P/U Truck
A years filled up Bus/Subway Rider card
A gun
Dinner and show
A single or dozen flowers WITH the above but not alone as they DIE! Then she has nothing to show her girlfriends about the wonderful man she has! NEVER PLASTIC FLOWERS!

DO NOT BUY Victorias Secret as that's not for her but you! She knows that also! BUT, a gift card does work as she makes the decision on what to get and that way it IS for her! BUT that's an add on to all the above! Also you won't buy the wrong size because you were not smart enough to go look at sizes in the drawer before you let your eyes and little buddy do the shopping!

Just remember if it has an electrical cord and I even mean a computer or anything just do not go there!

Now, times they are a changing and a cell phone or the smartest one on the market just might out do a diamond with teenagers these days!

Just make the right decisions for the woman who puts up with you all year and maybe you'll have a wonderful evening! SMILE !

IF she does ask for anything with a cord attached to it get it in writing and signed with a drop of her blood on the paper to COVER YOUR ASS!

Chapter 32

I have to announce that on Dec 30th 2010 I had my first beer since about July 2008 when the chemo and radiation started to destroy my taste buds! It was a Samuel Adams Draft at Red Lobster where my wife and I went with a gift card given to me by my baby sister! Yes, I did get a bit of a buzz but the best thing was the TASTE! No one knows what it's like to lose your "taste" for so many things. Things like chocolate, salad dressings, beer, wine and many other foods! But, after just over 29 months different taste buds are starting to come back on line!

I know I brought it up earlier but losing your taste can be a mental exercise in staying sane! I know I said that the learning curve of this oh so fun disease of cancer is that there is no curve! It’s a straight up high wall that we have to climb!

Not only the cancer but the stupid tumor that the radiation caused and the brain surgery that it brought on!

Now not only did I not have any taste, because of the damage done to muscles in my face my jaw doesn’t work as it used to and I can’t put in my dentures.

OK, yes I can BUT I can’t get food through the 1/2 “ that is the opening I get between the teeth after opening my mouth as far as it’ll go! This makes for a nice problem! Before brain surgery, I was finally able to eat crunchy stuff like a salad, steak, and crackers but most of all my favorite vegetables that were thick and chewy and nuts of all kinds! Yes, some still had no taste or not what it used to taste like but I was still able to eat them!

Like last week when I had that oh so wonderful beer! I had asparagus! The only problem was it had been pan sautéed and a tad bit tough but the tips were fantastic and after cutting the stalks open and in small pieces I was able to enjoy them! Both of those were wonderful but the shrimp made the night complete! Shrimp I can do easily!

I’m glad my taste buds are coming back on line even though not as fast as I would have wanted but it’s like having a Christmas or birthday when I do find something that has decided to work again!

Now if my throat will finish being so stubborn getting food to start the trip down to the stomach I’ll be able to eat more and gain some of those 25 pounds I misplaced! As much as I love Italian food and noodles and spicy sauces and soups I’m getting real tired of them! I want real food!
